On May 16th, UM is changing its community notification process. More information can be found on the Nixle website. 
Community Notification System
Up until May 16th, Nixle provided municipalities with free text and email notification to registered users. After seeing the tremendous support for this system, Nixle made the wise business decision to charge for some services. Nixle has notified the Upper Moreland Police Department that for the service to remain as it is, the UMPD will be required to pay $1500 for the first year and at least $3000 for following years.
Since I have not budgeted for that expenditure, I asked our Information Systems Director to help me maintain the distribution of public safety information to you. Nixle will still provide free texting alerts from the UMPD. In order to receive the more detailed email alerts and photos, I am asking that you register on the Upper Moreland Township website (www.uppermoreland.org). Please continue to be connected to us by clicking on the "Manage Email Alerts" on the right side of the Township homepage.
