FROM THE OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
The NWS has placed us in a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10pm tonight. We are still in a slight risk area for the rest of the day. It looks like we could see some additional rainfall but I am not real concerned with the activity in NW Oklahoma in the Harper County area. There is some evidence that storms may fire to our southwest along another boundary but we really haven’t had the sunlight to help re-destabilize the atmosphere. It has come out now so we'll wait and see.Overall, we have a threat for storms tonight and possibly Saturday morning then again Sunday afternoon into next week. No need to panic or anything. Go ahead with all of your plans.
There is one more thing about one of the vehicles from this morning. They got themselves into their predicament because a few drove around the barricades. Please don’t do that. I was told this by hopefully, a reliable source. The barricades are there for your safety and the safety of your passengers.
Stay weather aware and have a great weekend.
