Jury Scam
Most people take a summons for jury duty seriously but enough people skip out on their civic duty that a new fraud has surfaced.
A caller claims to be a jury duty coordinator. If you protest that you haven't received a summons for jury duty, the scammer asks you for your Social Security number and a date of birth to verify your information and in order to cancel the arrest warrant that has been issued for you.
Give out this information and bingo, your identity has been stolen.
To date, the fraud has been reported in 11 states, including Idaho.
