“Click It or Ticket” Intensified Enforcement

On May 26th 2011 The Enid Police Department conducted an intensified seatbelt enforcement activity in conjunction with the “Click It or Ticket” mobilization. The enforcement activity, which was funded via the police departments OHSO Traffic Safety Grant, took place at the intersection of Johnson and Randolph between the hours of 5:00 pm and 9:30 pm. During the enforcement period 75 citations were issued to motorist and/or passengers who were not wearing their seatbelt. The Enid Police Department will continue to conduct intensified enforcement activities during the mobilization period which runs through June 5th.

Officers of the Enid Police Department will be out during the day and night enforcing the mandatory seatbelt and child restraint law. If our officers see a motorist who is not buckled up or a vehicle where a child is not properly restrained a citation will be issued. No exceptions. When properly used, a seatbelt greatly reduces a motorist’s chance of serious injury or death when a crash occurs. Wearing your seatbelt can save your life.
