Subject: Aggravated Assault/ Sports Zone
Location: 703 South Slappey Boulevard
Time: 2:15 a.m.

This morning, Officers responded to the above location in reference to a shooting incident.

According to the victim and witnesses, the business was preparing to close at approximately 2:00 AM, when a few males refused to leave the pool room area. The security officer and owner of the club asked them to leave and they refused. So, they began escorting the individuals out of the club. At that point, the suspects began to argue with the security officers. A fight followed between the security officers and the suspects outside the club and shots were fired.

Tony Cox, one of the security officers was standing on the outside of the club and was struck by a bullet in the right leg. After hearing the shots, the owner of the club, Reginald Gordon, came out of the club armed with a shotgun and began to return fire at the individuals shooting at business. The suspects fled the scene in three different vehicles. At this time, it is believed that at least four to five individuals were involved in the shooting and they fled the scene in three separate vehicles.
