The US Army Corps of Engineers, in coordination with the City of Grapevine, will be closing Fairway Drive across the Grapevine Lake Dam, in order to complete repairs and maintenance of the dam. Closure is expected to take place on July 11 2011, and tentatively reopen around the first week of August 2011. The closure is needed for work crews to replace rip-rap on the upstream slope of the dam, and relocate an electric line. During this time, all vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic on top of the dam will be prohibited. Travelers will have to use an alternate route such as Highway 26 or FM 2499. Silver Lake Park and Marina, Cowboys Golf Course, and the Grapevine Lake Office will remain accessible from the south side of Fairway Drive via Highway 26. Rockledge Park and the Grapevine Municipal Golf Course will remain accessible from the north side of Fairway Drive via Lakeside Pkwy or Silveron Blvd off of FM 2499.
