Have a Safe & Sane 4th of July Weekend!
The Folsom Police Department and the Folsom Fire Department would like to remind Folsom residents and visitors that Sacramento is a Safe & Sane county. Fireworks that launch from the ground are illegal without a permit. Altering legal fireworks, either by changing their purpose or throwing them in the air, is also illegal! Sacramento County Fire and Law Enforcement have created a special task force to identify and arrest people who violate firework safety laws. Punishment ranges from a year in jail to $50,000 in fines plus damages!!
The Folsom Municipal Code permits discharging fireworks between noon on June 28th to midnight July 4th ONLY!!! Fines for discharging fireworks after midnight July 4th and noon on June 28th, 2012 are $250 per violation.
