On 06-28-11, at approximately 6:00AM, AEPD units were dispatched to a Burglary in Progress call at a residence on Fairfield Drive (100 block). Upon arrival and initial investigation, it was determined that unknown person(s) had entered the residence through a back door. Upon discovering that the residence was occupied, the suspect fled the scene. No person to person contact or observations made - no forced entry was noted by investigating officers.

A short time later, a "suspicious person" call was given officers who responded to the area of Clarendon Place and Dartmouth Avenue. A description was given to AEPD units who canvassed/searched the immediate area. Afterwards, a suspect was noted by officers in the area of the Forrest Hills Elementary School. Additional officers responded at which time the suspect was taken into custody.

Due to evidence located at the earlier burglary scene and a good description given by citizens who called in the "suspicious person" call to 911, the suspect was charged with the burglary incident.

The arrest was a result of teamwork between the community and the police. Citizens are asked to call 911 immediately should they ever observe suspicious persons, vehicles and activity.
