Heightened hot and humid conditions will lead to a heightened risk of heat related stress and illness. Check on elderly neighbors during this period. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light losse fitting clothing, and again, drink plenty of water.
If you are working outside, frequent breaks are recommended.
