Chula Vista Public Library Now Offers Downloadable eBooks
Best-selling and classic titles available anytime, anywhere

(Chula Vista, CA) July 18, 2011 – Chula Vista Public Library has expanded its services with eBooks, available to download from the library’s website. Library card holders can check out and download digital books anytime, anywhere, by visiting the library’s homepage at www.chulavistalibrary.com

Library guests may browse the library’s website, check out with a valid Chula Vista library card, and download to PC, Mac®, and many mobile devices. Users will need to install the free software Adobe® Digital Editions to read eBooks. Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including iPod®, Sony® Reader™, and many others. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the 14 day lending period. There are no late fees and no need to drive to the library to return books!

“The Library is excited to offer thousands of bestselling titles. We know our public love the convenience of portable book readers so this service will allow owners of Nooks, I-Pads and other electronic readers to obtain titles at no cost” said Library Director Betty Waznis. The service will expand to include Kindle readers later this year.

This new service, powered by OverDrive, is free for patrons with their library card. To get started downloading eBooks from Overdrive and view other online book resources, visit the library’s homepage at www.chulavistalibrary.com
