The North Castle Library in Armonk has offered to host our community as a place of refuge from the excessive heat.
The Town of North Castle has asked Library Director Chris Ansnes and the North Castle Library Staff to Open its doors as a place of refuge to all resdients in order to escape the excessive Heat.
Answering this request, the North Castle Library, Armonk Branch will be open until 5 pm today Friday July 22, 2011.
The North Castle Library in Armonk has offered its building to Host our community as a place of refuge from the heat for North Castle seniors, people who have special needs, and all who do not have air conditioning.
If you would like to escape the heat with a good book, audio tape, or use the internet our library is the place.
The library is located at 19 Whippoorwill Road East in the Hamlet of Armonk, and is open for business until 5 PM today Firday July 22, 2011.
During this Time of Excessive Heat, Please check on your neighbors to make sure they are ok. It is very important to make contact with all your neighbors to make sure they are safe and ok during times like this. These contacts and caring are what make living in a small community special, so please make time for each other.
If you know of a senior or special needs person who might need to be checked on and you are unable to help, please call the North Castle Police at 914 273-9500. We will check on them for you.
The North Castle Office of Emergency Management is monitoring this weather emergency. The OEM will staff the emergency management center should the need arise based on conditions. The OEM staff can be reached at the email provided, for specific questions.
Residents should be prepared for power outages during these times of excessive heat. Should your power go out, please contact CON ED directly at 1-800-75CONED. Please call them even if youre neighbor has already called.
If you experience an emergency during this time, please contact the North Castle Police Department by dialing 911. Please reserve your use of 911 for emergencies only. All other calls should be placed to the Police Department on the general number at 914-273-9500
