Tips to avoid thefts from vehicles 
LOCK IT OR LOSE IT !
Most car break ins could have easily been deterred.
- Secure your vehicles. Lock your car doors and close your windows.
- Don’t leave a spare key in the vehicle.
- Don’t leave valuables in plain view.
- If valuables must be left in the car document all serial numbers on GPS or other electronics that might be left in the car. This will help the police to be able to identify them if they are recovered.
- Park in the garage or in a well lit area.
- Ask yourself the question "What do I have that is worth stealing?". Remove that item from your vehicle if possible.
- Be alert if you spot suspicious activity in your community. The vehicle broken into today may be someone else’s, but tomorrow it could be yours!
