A Hazardous Weather Outlook Has been reported by the NWS for North Castle Through Sunday Evening August 07,2011
Per the National Weather Service, there is a potential for Heavy Rain and Isolated Damaging Winds Saturday Night into Sunday August 07,2011.
Low pressure is expected to pass through the region Sunday, with a warm frontal passage late tonight into early Sunday and a cold front late in the day or Sunday night.
Showers will move into the western portions of the region late this afternoon and evening. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to overspread the area tonight with periods of heavy rain likely.
Shower/thunderstorm activity gradually decreases during the day Sunday, but an additional round of showers/thunderstorms is possible through the afternoon.
In terms of flooding, no watches are being issued at this time. Localized flooding is still possible. "Short-fused" advisories or warnings may be needed later tonight.
Overall storm total rainfall is expected to range between 1/2" and 1" over northeast New Jersey, New York City and Long Island...and from 1" to 1 1/2" over the Lower Hudson Valley and southern Connecticut.
Isolated severe thunderstorms are still possible late tonight into early morning...and during the day tomorrow.

National Weather Service Forecast for North Castle Area:
Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind between 9 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Sunday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. South wind 6 to 9 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Sunday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Monday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

All North Castle residents should prepare for the possibility of power outages during this time period extending into the overnight and until the posted NWS expiration date and time.
Residents experienceing an interuption in electrical service should contact Con Edison Directly at 1-800 75CONED to report their outage. All effected residents should call Con Edison even if the outage was reported by their neighbor.
The North Castle Office of Emergency Management is monitoring this HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK Event and may activate the EOC if required to deal with situations arising from it. Additional information regarding incidents arising from this event will be sent when available through nixle.
