A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the North Castle Area This evening.

The NWS has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area. This storm is capable of 60 mph winds.

The National Weather Service in Upton NY has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Westchester County in southeast New York, Including North Castle

* until 345 PM EDT...

* at 314 PM EDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in
excess of 60 mph. This storm was located over the Hudson River
near West Point moving southeast at 20 mph.

All North Castle residents should prepare for the possibility of power outages during this time period extending into the overnight and until the posted NWS expiration date and time.

Residents experienceing an interuption in electrical service should contact Con Edison Directly at 1-800 75CONED to report their outage. All effected residents should call Con Edison even if the outage was reported by their neighbor.

The North Castle Office of Emergency Management is monitoring this Event and may activate the EOC if required to deal with situations arising from it. Additional information regarding incidents arising from this event will be sent when available through nixle.
