We have an on-going Toyota Tacoma (pickup truck) scam occurring in Northeast and several San Fernando Valley neighborhoods. The suspects steal Tacoma trucks, create fake registrations and titles for the trucks, and then sell them on large streets/boulevards to unsuspecting victims. When the victims attempt to register the vehicles they discover the vehicles are stolen and they are out all of the money that they paid to the suspects – generally around 8-9 thousand dollars per truck. Please make sure to check out who you are buying vehicles from on the streets.
