South Burlington Road Closure Notice

Burlington is hosting the USA Triathlon National Championships on Saturday, August 20, 2011. The bike portion of these events will travel from Burlington to the closed end of I-189, I-189 (eastbound lane) to Dorset Street, Swift Street to Spear Street to Shelburne and return on Dorset Street to I-189 (eastbound lane).

As a result, I-189 (Eastbound only) will be CLOSED to all vehicular traffic from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Dorset Street (from I-189 to Swift Street) will be closed to vehicular traffic as follows:
Northbound: 8:00am-11:15am and 1:00pm-2:30pm
Southbound: 8:00am-10:00am and 1:00pm-2:00pm

Dorset Street (from Swift Street to Shelburne town line) will be closed to vehicular traffic as follows:
Northbound 8:30am-11:15am and 1:00pm-2:30pm

Swift Street (Westbound lane from Dorset Street to Spear Street) will be closed to vehicular traffic as follows:
8:00am -10:30am and 1:00pm-2:00pm

Spear Street (from Swift Street to Nowland Farm) will be closed to vehicular traffic as follows:
Southbound: 8:00am-11:00am and 1:00pm-2:30pm

Spear Street (from Nowland Farm to Shelburne town line) will be closed to vehicular traffic as follows:
Southbound 8:00am -11:00am

Nowland Farm (from Spear Street to Dorset Street will be closed to vehicular traffic as follows:
Eastbound: 1:00pm-2:30pm

***Residents on affected roads will be able to cross from closed lanes to open lanes once groups of bicycles pass.

Police and volunteers will be stationed at all key intersections to help inform and guide motorists.

Please make note of these closures and plan your travel schedule on Saturday, August 20 accordingly.
