On Sunday August 28, 2011, at approximately 1:41 A.M., a Fatal Traffic Collision, Pedestrian vs. Vehicle, occurred in North Hollywood. An unknown model, possibly a white 4-door sedan traveling westbound on Saticoy Street, just west of Atoll Avenue, collided with a pedestrian who was on the roadway in the #2 lane. The pedestrian was seriously injured as a result of the collision, and pronounced dead at the scene by The Los Angeles Fire Department. The hit and run driver failed to stop and render aid. The vehicle was last seen driving westbound on Saticoy Street and then turned northbound. The pedestrian has been identified as a Male, white, resident of Sun Valley. Notification to next of kin is pending.

On Sunday August 28, 2011, at approximately 10:00 A.M., Alicia Carolina Benites, a 21-year-old resident of Tarzana, turned herself in at West Valley Community Police Station, in connection with the above Hit and Run Traffic Collision. Benites also turned in the vehicle she was driving, which matched the description of the Hit and Run vehicle provided by witnesses. Benites was subsequently arrested and booked for 20001(a)VC, Felony Hit and Run, with a bail of $50,000.
