The following information is from the Emergency Operations Center in North Castle regarding ongoing recovery operations in Town. The Emergency Operations Center is still on Level 3 activation. We are fully staffed and prepared to maintain safety as we proceed with our recovery effort.
Every Town employee, Dedicated Volunteer Organizations, and Local Elected Official is dedicated to helping you during this recovery effort.
Electrical power restoration progress: As of publication all roadways within the Town are open and passable to vehicle traffic. I do remind you that there are still numerous areas where power lines are on the ground. Please do not approach power lines on the ground, or assume that they are dead. If you encounter lane closures or closed areas caused by power restoration crews please slow down and obey all flagmen so they may maintain a safe working are. These crews are working around the clock to restore your power. Please, make every effort to be courteous to them as most of these crews are from other areas of the country and have traveled here to help us. Con Ed Still maintains that all residences will have electrical power by Thursday September 01, 2011 at midnight.
