City of Chula Vista is hosting a household hazardous waste drop-off event on Saturday, September 24 from 9am to 3pm at 707 F Street Chula Vista, Ca 91910 (former Public Works yard, corner of F Street and Woodlawn Avenue).
The event is open to all Chula Vista single and multi-family residents only, no business-generated waste accepted. Acceptable materials include: anti-freeze, batteries (auto and home), motor oil, paint (latex and oil-based), electronics, fluorescent bulbs and mercury-containing devices.
The following materials will not be accepted: Fuels, compressed gas/liquid tanks, pesticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, thinners, degreasers, sharp/medical/pharmaceutical waste, white goods, i.e. stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, etc.
For this event the City of Chula Vista partnered with Computers 2 San Diego Kids (C2SDK) for collection of all working and non-working electronic items including computers, TVs, radios, phones, cords, printers, hardware, servers, used ink/toner cartridges and software.
C2SDK is a non-profit organization that recycles and refurbishes used computers and delivers them to families in need across San Diego County. C2SDK also arranges for the families to receive necessary training and technical support. In recent years C2SDK has refurbished more than 15,000 computers and provided them to needy families all across San Diego County.
