A tragic fatal collision occurred this morning in North Hollywood involving a 67-year-old pedestrian and a motorcycle. 
On Monday, October 3, 2011, at 7:15 am, 67-year-old Angel Torres was killed while crossing outside of an unmarked crosswalk at Strathern Street and Morella Avenue. Torres, a resident of North Hollywood, was struck by 22-year-old Sun Valley resident, Richard David Geist.
Geist was riding his 2007 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Strathern Street when he collided with Torres as he walked northbound across Strathern Street.
Both Geist and Torres were transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles City Fire personnel. Torres' injuries were very serious and he died shortly after his arrival to the hospital. Geist remains in stable condition.
This investigation is being handled by the Los Angeles Police Department, Valley Traffic Division.
