An attempted bank robbery occurred on Wednesday, October 4th at a Bank of America in Marina del Rey.

The suspect entered the bank at 1:03PM and handed the teller a note. During a brief conversation between the teller and the suspect, he indicated it was a robbery. Marina del Rey Sheriff’s Station deputies were notified of a bank robbery in progress and quickly responded and apprehended the suspect.

The suspect was arrested before he obtained any money.

The suspect has been identified as Christopher John-Mark Bailey, a 25-year old African American man from St. Louis, Missouri. He is believed to be a transient.

Suspect Bailey is currently being held on $50,000 bail. The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Thursday for filing consideration. Major Crimes Bureau investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department do not believe the suspect is connected to any other bank robberies.
