WEEKLY HEALTH TIP: Check for Breast Cancer
Aside from some types of skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common type of cancer for women in the United States. It is also one of the leading causes of cancer related death among women of all races.
While still a good idea, clinical breast exams and self-exams have NOT proven effective at decreasing the risk of dying from breast cancer. The best way to detect breast cancer is with a mammogram.
• Make an appointment for a mammogram
• Find low cost and free cervical and breast cancer screenings in your area
• Find out if you have a family history of breast cancer.
