On 10-19-2011 two vehicles were broken into between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. These vehicles were located at separate business off of Manchester road. One vehicle was located in the 11700 block, and the other in the 13400 block. Both vehicles had the windows broken by unknown means. Purses and other miscellaneous items were reports as missing. After the thefts, one of the victim’s credit cards was used at a nearby fueling station. Surveillance videos from that filling station are being reviewed at this time.

The City of Des Peres Department of Public Safety would like to remind everyone to remove valuables prior to leaving your vehicle unattended. Although we cannot guarantee that your vehicle will not be broken into by taking this step, the chances are lessoned considerably. Items that are left in view of the passing public make vehicles more appealing to criminals.

Even though these vehicle break-ins occurred at businesses off of Manchester Rd we would like to remind our neighborhoods and to stay vigilant in reporting all suspicious activities to the police department.
