The National Weather Service is still calling for a high impact winter storm with potential snow accumulations of 4" to 8" in many areas, and up to 12" in some areas. There seems to be a significant potential for widespread power outages resulting from downed limbs, trees and poles.

Communities as close to Boston as Stow and Littleton could get 4 to 5 inches, said Bill Simpson, a weather service meteorologist.
