A investigation of stolen firearms Saturday night resulted in the arrest of a 23 year old Rittman man. Wayne County Deputies arrested Jeremy Vance for burglary and theft.

Deputies were called to a Canaan Twp home after the homeowner discovered that twelve firearms and jewelry had been stolen from the residence. As the investigation unfolded deputies determined that Vance was a suspect and made contact with him at his Rittman home.

Upon seeing the deputies’ approach, Vance ran from the door and was later found under the covers of his bed. While performing a consent search of the home, the deputies located eleven of the stolen firearms in the basement and the missing jewelry under Vance’s clothing.

Vance was arrested and transported to the Wayne County Jail.
