Advisory

Burn Ban

Ray County commissioners have decided to keep the burn ban in place for our area. This ban makes it illegal to do any outside burning. If you are caught burning during this burn ban you could face fines. Anyone caught burning without a valid permit can be ticketed and face fines or penalties. Do not burn during this time until further notice or without a valid permit. Wood Heights Fire will not be issuing any permits during the ban.

Burn permits may be picked up at any fire station after the burn ban is lifted and are no cost to the homeowner. The permit is valid for limbs, leaves, and grass. Nothing else is allowed to be burned within the county as we are part of the Kansas City clean air act.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to call Chief Lee O'Dell at the Wood Heights Fire station 816-630-9428 Ext 1.
