Woman Charged after Threatening Roommates with Knife

Las Cruces Police have charged a woman who is suspected of threatening two roommates with a knife on Saturday evening.

Deborah Gladish, 60, was arrested early Sunday morning and is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, Las Cruces Police were called to the 100 block of west Willoughby Avenue where two people, a man and woman, told officers that Gladish threatened them with a knife.

Detectives learned that Gladish was upset with her roommates on Saturday and had taken a kitchen knife into her bedroom. At some point Gladish came out of the bedroom and threatened the two roommates with the knife, actually holding the blade about one inch from the male victim’s face.

Gladish then retreated to her bedroom and her roommates called 911. No physical injuries were reported.

Gladish was incarcerated at the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $10,000.
