Full Notification

On November 21, 2011, at approximately 0645 hours, a fatal vehicle versus vehicle traffic collision occurred on La Tuna Canyon south of the 210 Freeway in the city of Tujunga. A white Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck was travelling eastbound on La Tuna Canyon when it lost traction on the wet pavement and slid sideways into the westbound lanes. A red Scion was travelling westbound and broadsided the Toyota truck.

The driver of the Toyota, 46 year old Manilo Imperial of Canyon Country, was trapped inside and was pulled to safety by unknown passerby’s. He sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment, however the driver of the Scion, 45 year Marvin Horner of Tujunga, sustained massive internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin was notified by the responding Coroners Office Investigator.

The investigation is continuing and Valley Traffic detectives are searching for witnesses who may have observed the collision and called 911.
