Thanksgiving travel safety tips from WXPD. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday!
The Thanksgiving Holiday is a time when travel volume typically increases on Utah roadways. The Woods Cross Police Department wishes to remind motorists of the following in our continuous efforts toward Highway Safety:
• Make safety your first priority this Holiday season.
• Always use a safety belt and put children in the appropriate child safety seats while traveling.
• Don't Drink and Drive. Be a friend and don't let others Drink and Drive.
• Obey posted speed limits and check all mirrors every 5 to 8 seconds.
• Check your vehicle's tires and fluid levels before heading out to avoid any breakdowns with your loved ones on board.
• Be aware of other drivers who may be impatient, thoughtless, or who make sudden moves without warning.
• Make sure your own driving is controlled as it is the best way to avoid crashes.
• Take patience with you on your Holiday trip; the patience to take time for caution by getting an early start; patience to keep a safe interval as you drive, and the patience to stay in the proper travel lane.
• Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving Holiday.
