Advisory

HOLIDAY TRAVELERS, ASK A NEIGHOR TO KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR HOUSE. ANYTHING SUSPICOUS, CALL 9-1-1.

Many San Fernando Valley families will be leaving town this Holiday Season, allowing opportunistic burglars to prey on their vacant houses. If you know you will be traveling, please inform a trusted neighbor and request they keep an eye on your property. If they see suspicious activity at your home, ask your neighbors to CALL 9-1-1.

• DO NOT INVESTIGATE OR DELAY.
• ALLOW the LAPD to investigate and determine what is occurring.

To help the LAPD more effectively combat Residential Burglaries, prior to leaving, please

• Leave a radio on inside
• Close curtains and blinds on windows.
• If lights can be put on timers, use them.
• Ask neighbors to check on your property daily, including picking up newspapers, and collecting mail.
• If you will be gone for an extended period, contact the newspapers and US mail and request they hold your mail.
