On Thursday, December 1st, 2011, at approximately 1025 hours, a severe traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Parthenia Street and Louise Avenue in Northridge. A 2003 Mercedes SL500 was being driven by Karapet Gary Galajian, 18 years-old, a resident of North Hollywood. The Mercedes was driving southbound on Louise and made a left turn onto Parthenia. The Mercedes collided with the victim, Mary Kathleen Schneider, 44 years-old, a resident of Northridge, who was walking her three dogs in a marked crosswalk.

The Mercedes fled the scene at a high rate of speed without rendering aide or exchanging information. The victim was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.

The suspect later turned himself into Devonshire Police Station and he was later arrested for hit and run felony.

The investigation is continuing and Valley Traffic Detectives are searching for additional witnesses that may have observed the collision.
