Armed Burglary/Arrest Made!
The Newton Police Department is reporting an arrest made in an early morning Armed Burglary at a Harvey Place residence.
On Friday December 30, 2011 at approximately 2:05 a.m., officers responded to a Harvey Place residence for a report of an Armed Robbery. According to the victim, he just returned home and observed a chair under his bathroom window. This to him, appeared to be in the same manner in which his home was entered on December 26, 2011, in what was an Armed Home Invasion.
As he entered his home, he heard people rummaging through one of his rooms. The victim then quietly left his home and called 911. While in his vehicle, he noticed two males exiting his rear door. One of those males walked up to his vehicle and pointed a Silver handgun at him. He described him as wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, Black mask (skeleton face) and Black gloves. The second male turned away from the victim’s vehicle and put his hood over his head. He was also wearing a dark facemask and gloves, while carrying a motorcycle helmet. The suspects then fled the area, in what appeared to be a Blue Chevy Trailblazer
Patrol officers in the area, then observed that Trailblazer turning onto Elm Street and then lost sight of it. Another officer in an unmarked cruiser observed the Trailblazer and began following it, as it headed westbound on Washington Street. This suspect vehicle was then observed turning westbound onto Commonwealth Avenue, while failing to stop at a solid Red light at the intersection of Washington Street and Commonwealth Avenue.
Officers in a marked cruiser, who were now behind the suspect vehicle, activated their lights and siren in an attempt to stop the suspects. The vehicle continued on Commonwealth Avenue and stopped after turning right onto Arapahoe Road.
Officers then conducted a felony motor vehicle stop and ordered the suspects from the vehicle. After a thoroughly gathering information, the suspects were placed under arrest and transported to the station to be booked.
At this time, VINCENZO PAUL ALONGE, 22, of 91 LAURICELLA LANE WALTHAM, MA is being charged with Armed Burglary, Use of a Firearm in a felony, Carrying a Firearm without a License and Possession of a Class E Substance.
