Following an investigation by the Internal Affairs Division and disciplinary hearings this afternoon, Dallas Police Chief David O. Brown terminated Police Officer Rashad Davis, #9293.

On December 8, 2011, after receiving information regarding possible drug use by Officer Davis, his chain of command requested that he consent to a drug test. Officer Davis agreed and was transported to a medical facility where he provided a urine sample. On December 13, 2011, the Internal Affairs Division was notified that Officer Davis had tested positive for marijuana usage. Officer Davis also received an allegation for violating the Administrative Leave Policy and for insubordination when he failed to follow the direct order of a supervisor to cooperate in an Internal Affairs investigation. There were three (3) other investigations pending prior to this action being taken.

Officer Davis was hired on November 14, 2007 and assigned to the South Central Patrol Division.

Under civil service rules, Officer Davis has a right to appeal his terminations.
