LARCENY FROM AUTO 
A larceny of a GPS unit from a vehicle occurred in the rear lot of CVS in the Village on 1/2/12. The vehicle was locked and the unit was permanently installed.
Residents are encouraged to always lock their vehicles and not keep valuables and electronics in the car if possible. If items are left in the vehicle KEEP THEM OUT OF VIEW.
Most larcenies from vehicles are crimes of convenience and the thieves usually do not like to be troubled with locked vehicles.
GPS units are very popular items to steal and thieves will even look for marks from the mounting suction cups to single out likely victims.
