Operations South Bureau Community Police Academy 
Ever say to yourself, “Why did the cops do that?” Well, here is your chance to find out!
Operations South Bureau is accepting applications for the 2012 Community Police Academy! This is your opportunity to learn about why we make the decisions we make and why we do the things that we do. You will also learn more about the services your police department provide and how you can help to reduce crime in your own neighborhood!
We are offering four separate eight-week classes (two in English and two in Spanish).
Class-1 (Spanish) February 22 through April 11, 2012.
Class-2 (English) April 10 through March 10, 2012.
Class-3 (Spanish) July 11 through August 9, 2012.
Class-4 (English) September 13 through November 1, 2012.
Classes will meet once per week from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
You must meet the following criteria:
18 or older (High school students welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent)
Live, work, or attend school within LAPD South Bureau
No felony convictions
No pending criminal cases
All applicants must be approved by an Area Commanding Officer
