Camillus Police awarded AAA Gold Community Traffic Safety Award.

CAMILLUS, NEW YORK, January 11, 2012 – Chief Thomas M. Winn and Town Supervisor Mary Ann Coogan take great pride in reporting that the Town of Camillus has been selected as a recipient of the Automobile Association of America’s 2nd highest Community Traffic Safety Award the (Gold Award) for 2011. On Wednesday January 11th 2012, Chief Thomas Winn, Captain Steve Rotunno, Supervisor Mary Ann Coogan, and Councilman William Davern represented the Town of Camillus at the Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board Awards Luncheon held at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse. The AAA Community Traffic Safety Award is presented to communities that statistically demonstrate measurable effectiveness in addressing local traffic safety issues.
Police Officer Jay Pollard was also the recipient of the Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board Top DWI Enforcer Award for Town and Village Police Agencies for 2011. Officer Pollard was recognized for the fifty (50) Impaired Driver Arrests he made between October 1, 2010 and September 30th 2011.
