The Thurmont Police Department is pleased to announce Kyle E. Minnick as a new police officer for the Town of Thurmont. Officer Minnick was hired as a Lateral Police Officer and was previously employed by Edmonston Police Department where he served four years. He has received many awards for DUI enforcement and a Lifesaving Award from Hyattsville City Police. Officer Minnick is also a Maryland Certified Emergency Medical Technician-Basic. Officer Minnick was born and raised in Smithsburg MD, and graduated from Smithsburg High School in 2003. He and his family currently reside in Hagerstown, Maryland.
