WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM WEDNESDAY TO 4 PM MST FRIDAY
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN POCATELLO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW - WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM WEDNESDAY TO 4 PM MST FRIDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
* TIMING - VERY HEAVY SNOW WILL DEVELOP WEDNESDAY MORNING IN THE CARIBOU HIGHLANDS - IDAHO WASATCH MOUNTAINS - AND UPPER SNAKE HIGHLANDS THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING.
* SNOW AMOUNTS - 2 TO 4 FEET IS POSSIBLE BY THURSDAY MORNING WITH HIGHEST ACCUMULATIONS ABOVE 6000 FEET. EXPECT 1 TO 3 FEET OF ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON. SNOW MAY BE MIXED WITH RAIN BELOW 5500 FEET.
* MAIN IMPACT - VERY SLICK ROADS ALONG WITH BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW IS LIKELY. ROAD CLOSURES ARE POSSIBLE. ANYBODY PLANNING ON TRAVELING TO MONTANA - WYOMING OR UTAH SHOULD PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE FORECAST.
