Thursday evening, December 8, 2011, an 11-year-old Hispanic female was sexually assaulted by an unidentified male while standing in line at a “Ross Dress For Less” department store, 1600 South Azusa Avenue, Industry.
As the victim stood in line to purchase items, the suspect (male Hispanic, 30-35 years old, 5’06”-5’07” tall, 200-220 pounds) also stood in line behind her. He grabbed her buttocks and rubbed them for several seconds. The victim’s mother saw the incident while walking toward the victim and yelled at the suspect. The suspect exited the store and fled by quickly walking away.
The suspect was identified while walking out of another store shortly after the incident at the Puente Hills Mall and his image was captured on the store’s surveillance video. Although Industry Sheriff’s Station deputies made great efforts to apprehend the suspect, he was not located.
Detectives from the Special Victims Bureau are asking for the public’s assistance in locating and identifying the suspect.
