Elderly female contacted and informed grandson injured in accident in Dominican Republic. Elderly female believed she was speaking with her grandson and was asked to wire cash via Western Union as soon as possible. Was also asked not to tell anyone else about the situation.
Please inform elderly neighbors, relatives to be extremely cautious regarding these type of situations and these seem to be active in the Ripon area at this time. Please contact the Ripon Police Department if these type of calls are received 748-2888.
