Winter Weather Advisory & update for Ingham County. Temps to drop and roads could freeze due to abrupt drop.
Temperatures will plunge into the teens behind an arctic front today and this evening. Here's the latest information including the timing of the arctic front:
HAZARDS:
* Icy Roads developing today and continuing tonight due to 1 to 3 inches of snow freezing up as temperatures fall abruptly into the teens.
* Wind Chills of zero to 10 below tonight.
IMPACTS:
* Hazardous travel conditions with slow downs and slide offs. This comes after a lengthy period of mild, uneventful winter weather with safe travel, and will catch some people off guard.
* Frost bite possible tonight if exposed to the cold long enough. Homeless people may be seeking shelters tonight.
TIMING OF THE ARCTIC FRONT:
* Reaching a Muskegon to Mt Pleasant Line by 4 PM.
* Grand Rapids around 5 PM.
* Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Lansing around 7 PM.
* Jackson around 9 PM.
* The Friday drive home commute will be impacted.
