A male was arrested on February 23, 2012 at about 7:00 AM in connection with a string of recent robberies along Whittier Boulevard in West Whittier.

Detectives from Pico Rivera Station investigated three separate robberies of local businesses in the 10400 block of Whittier Boulevard, Whittier. The robberies occurred between February 4 and February 12, 2012. The suspect twice targeted a Yum Yum Donuts shop as well as a 76 Gas Station. In all three robberies the suspect appeared to be armed with a handgun and obtained cash and store merchandise.

Detectives developed information that led them to believe the suspect was a resident in the adjacent neighborhood. During the early morning hours of February 23, 2012, detectives served a search warrant in the 6000 block of Mcnees Avenue, Whittier and arrested the suspect. Evidence linking the suspect to the robberies was also recovered.

The suspect was identified as, David Jimenez of Whittier and was booked for robbery at the Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station.
