Giles County Sheriff SRT raid marijuana grow house.

On Monday February 27, 2012 Giles County Sheriff’s Departments Special Response Team executed a search warrant issued to Sheriff’s Narcotics Investigator Michael Thomason. The SRT, Investigator Thomason, Deputy Scott Nations and agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation served the warrant at 1101 Maxwell Hill Rd. Pulaski. Once inside the residence officers found that marijuana was being manufactured. Officers seized over 100 marijuana plants in pots, approximately 5 pounds of harvested marijuana packaged in several different bags by variety, drug paraphernalia, $2148.41 cash, numerous lights and other materials used for the growing of marijuana and several firearms. While searching the residence Chief Deputy Tommy Chapman found a small pipe bomb (homemade firework) on a shelf. The Tennessee Highway Patrol Special operations Group was called to render the explosive device safe.
The case will be presented to the Giles County Grand Jury after lab reports are returned. The suspect in the case is forty-year old David Clayton Garrett. When officers made entry into the residence it was occupied by Garrett his wife and five year old granddaughter.
