Early this morning, approximately 03:24AM, WSB Radio put out an article and has been broadcasting information about "sniper activity" in Avondale Estates. Also, that there is going to be a meeting with residents at 6:30PM at First Baptist Church of Avondale Estates to discuss the alleged activity.
This reported information is FALSE. There has not been any reported "sniper activity" in Avondale Estates and the Avondale Estates Police Department IS NOT conducting a called Community Meeting this evening.
The Avondale Estates Police Department has been in contact with DeKalb County Police Department, 911/Communications Center, WSB Radio and the First Baptist Church of Avondale Estates in effrots to correct the erroneous reporting. WSB Radio has pulled the report and is no longer broadcasting the story.
