Phone scam active in Ripon this date. Resident receives phone call informing that she won the Publisher's clearing house sweepstakes and she needed go to Walgreen's to get a $320 money pack to claim her prize. This is a scam! Do not participate.
If you had legitamately won a contest there would be no requirement to pay something to collect your winnings. This has happened to three different residents that we are aware of today. Walgreen's talked one person out of purchasing a money pack and another person insisted on buying one. Hang up, this is a scam, do not provide any information.
