Alert

Devore Flood Advisory in effect for Devore thru 3pm.

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for rapid rises in normally dry or low flow washes for Devore until 3:00pm.

At 1159 am radar indicates that heavy rain continues over the Lytle Creek drainage. So far 1 to 2 inches of rainfall has occurred and is causing the creek to fill upstream to levels of 2 to 3 feet deep.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is likely through this afternoon. This will occur in the headwaters of Lytle Creek. Rainfall rates of 0.25 to 0.50 inches will continue this afternoon.

The runoff in the creek will continue towards Glen Helen Regional Park. There was a report of a 25 foot bridge that was undercut by the rising flow but the creek has not left its banks. Water rises will also occur where Lytle Creek crosses under I-15 but should not leave its banks as this area of the creek is wide.

Take necessary safety precautions.
