Investigators discovered that an employee used an unknown non-hazardous chemical to ignite material he was working with which caused an explosion in the immediate area. The fire was quickly extinguished.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where his condition is listed as critical.
No other employees were injured.

LOCATION: 14400 block of Lomitas Avenue, City of Industry
C/P LOC : 5th/Lomitas Avenues, City of Industry
VICTIM(S): 2 male adults
Narrative:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Arson/Explosives Detail Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding an industrial accident - chemical explosion that occurred at a business in the 14400 block of Lomitas Avenue, City of Industry.
Two male workers were injured as a result of the explosion. They were transported to a local hospital where their condition is unknown.
There is no further information available at this time.
