“Chief on the Beat” Crime Prevention Safety and Health Fair
Dallas Police Chief David O. Brown along with the Department’s Office of Community Affairs, and other City services and Community groups will host the third of several planned “Chief on the Beat,” Crime Prevention, Safety and Health Fairs. This event will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00p.m., at Prestonwood Baptist Church, located at 12123 Hillcrest Road. This event is free and open to the public.
Chief on the Beat is a component of Community Policing 2.0 and the goal of this event is to engage the police department with the community in a non-enforcement setting with integration of City departments and community partners. Chief Brown and various police department units such as SWAT, the Gang Unit, Recruiting, Neighborhood Police Officers, Narcotics and many others will be on-site to engage with the community. Dallas Fire Department, Code Enforcement, Emergency Management and Parks and Recreation will also be on hand for any questions or concerns the public may have. Health service providers will address quality of life issues and provide free services to include diabetic testing, blood pressure checks, dental and eye examinations, mammogram and prostate cancer screenings, and much more.
There will be children’s activities and entertainment for everyone. This event will also feature the Senior Citizen Safety Educational Program, the Home Security Educational Program, “Locks on the Blocks” Program and the iWatch Initiative. We are encouraging everyone to come out and participate in this community partnership.
