On 03/05/12 at approximately 1613 hrs, officers responded to the Panera Bread, located at 6643 Ritchie Hwy. #A, for a report of a peeping tom. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 19 YOA female victim who stated that while using the women’s restroom stall she saw a man’s hand reach under the partition with a cell phone in an attempt to videotape the victim. The victim alerted store management who presented officers with a surveillance video recording of the suspect.
On 03/27/12 at approximately 1930 hrs, officers again responded to the Panera Bread for a report of a male in the women’s restroom.
Upon arrival the officers spoke with a customer who advised that she was in the restroom outside of the stalls with her two small children when a male exited one of the stalls laughing. She alerted store management who presented officers with a surveillance video recording of the suspect. It was the same suspect captured on video on 03/05.
On 04/03/12 at approximately 1035 hrs, officers again responded to the Panera Bread because an employee recognized the aforementioned suspect as he attempted to enter the women’s restroom. Upon arrival, officers spoke with an employee who advised that as she was leaving the women’s restroom, he was trying to walk in. She recognized him from the earlier surveillance videos. She yelled for a male co-worker and the suspect quickly fled the store. Employees followed the male to his vehicle and obtained the MD tag number. Through investigation, detective’s identified the suspect as a homeless registered sex offender. Detectives located the suspect at a shopping center in Brooklyn, a short time later, and he was taken into custody.
