Patricia A. Paulhill Promoted to Assistant Chief of Police
Chief David Brown has promoted Deputy Chief Patricia A. Paulhill to the rank of Assistant Chief of Police. Assistant Chief Paulhill is a 31 year veteran of the Dallas Police Department. She has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Sam Houston State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Chief Paulhill began her career with the Dallas Police Department in 1981 and was assigned to the Southwest Patrol Division. In 1985, she became the first African American female to be assigned to Dallas SWAT. Chief Paulhill was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1986, serving in assignments at the Southeast Patrol Division and Internal Affairs Division. In 1989, Chief Paulhill was promoted to Lieutenant. As a Lieutenant, she was assigned to Traffic, SWAT, and Internal Affairs. Upon her promotion to Deputy Chief in 2004, she was assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division. In her tenure as a Deputy Chief, she has also commanded the Homeland Security and Tactical Intelligence Division, Special Investigations Division, Narcotics Division, and Internal Affairs Division.
Assistant Chief Paulhill will command the police department’s Administrative and Support Bureau.
